UPNM To Introduce Two New Undergraduate Programmes
Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) akan memperkenalkan dua program Ijazah Sarjana Muda di Kolej Automotif Antarabangsa (ICAM), sebuah institusi swasta di bawah DRB-HICOM Berhad.
UPNM pengerusi lembaga pengarah Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor berkata, program itu akan membantu ICAM dengan membina kapasiti dan membangunkan Pusat mereka Kecemerlangan Kenderaan Armour Advanced melalui penempatan empat pensyarah UPNM di ICAM.

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 Sept 2013 - Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) akan memperkenalkan dua program Ijazah Sarjana Muda di Kolej Automotif Antarabangsa (ICAM), sebuah institusi swasta di bawah DRB-HICOM Berhad.
UPNM pengerusi lembaga pengarah Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor berkata, program itu akan membantu ICAM dengan membina kapasiti dan membangunkan Pusat mereka Kecemerlangan Kenderaan Armour Advanced melalui penempatan empat pensyarah UPNM di ICAM.
Ini adalah selaras dengan wawasan ICAM, DRB-HICOM Berhad ke arah menjadi pusat utama pendidikan untuk automotif, katanya.
"Program ini terdiri daripada Sarjana Muda Kejuruteraan Elektrik dan Elektronik serta Ijazah Sarjana Muda Kejuruteraan Mekanikal di ICAM, dan ini dilakukan melalui perjanjian pelesenan," katanya pada majlis menandatangani Perjanjian Lampiran an Perindustrian dengan DRB-HICOM dan Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) antara Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick, United Kingdom (UK), di sini hari ini.
Perjanjian antara UPNM dan DRB-HICOM Berhad telah ditandatangani oleh Naib Canselor UPNM, Jeneral Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin bagi pihak UPNM dan pengarah DRB-HICOM Berhad menguruskan, Tan Sri Mohd Kamil Jamil.
"Pekerja berpengetahuan dan mahir adalah asas bagi industri automotif Malaysia untuk maju dan mengukuhkan Malaysia sebagai pelopor dalam industri automotif Asean," kata Kamil.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) will soon introduce two Bachelor Degree programmes at the International College of Automotive (ICAM), a private institution under DRB-HICOM Berhad.UPNM board of directors chairman Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor said the programme would help ICAM with capacity building and developing their Centre of Excellence for Advanced Armour Vehicles through placement of four UPNM lecturers at ICAM.
This is in line with the vision of ICAM, DRB-HICOM Berhad towards becoming the premier centre of education for automotive, he said.
"The programme is made up of a Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering as well as Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering at ICAM, and this is done through a licensing agreement," he said at the signing of an Industrial Attachment Agreement with DRB-HICOM and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick, United Kingdom (UK), here Friday.
The agreement between UPNM and DRB-HICOM Berhad was signed by UPNM Vice Chancellor, General Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin on behalf of UPNM and DRB-HICOM Berhad Group managing director, Tan Sri Mohd Kamil Jamil.
"Knowledgeable and skilled workers is a foundation for the Malaysian automotive industry to prosper and strengthen Malaysia as a forerunner in the Asean automotive industry," said Kamil.
